Penguin Polish New Years addition.

New Years is just around the corner!!!
Penguin polish has come with with two awesome polishes for the occasion!

This first one is called New Years Kisses.

New Years Kisses is a gorgeous glitter bomb of super fine holo, silver and rose glitter.
Below is three coats with a top coat of SV.

For this one I decided to layer two coats of New Year's Kisses over Essie Damsel in a Dress.

This is called Happy New Years, Baby.
I have to admit this shard type glitter is pretty rad.
It is a black base filled with like a bazillion different colors of glitter! It reminds me of the fire works my friends and I light off on New years.

Below is one coat of Sally Hansen Black out and two coats of Happy New Years, Baby.

Personally I think I like the second one more than the first one, it is more my style. What do you guys think?

I think one of these polish would be the perfect addition to your New Years outfit and should really go pick some up for your self. Lacey is super sweet and has fast shipping time.

Make sure to check out Penguin Polish on Facebook and Etsy!

Make sure to head on over to my facebook and show me your holiday hauls and holiday manicures!!! I would love to see all of them! Here is a link to my Facebook.

BAZINGA!

Missi over at Different Dimension must love that I just throw money at her because she keeps coming up with more and more of these damn polishes! (yes this collection is old but it is her fault for getting me hooked on show!)

So I have seen lot of people talk about The Big Bang Theory and how funny it was but had never watched it. I normally watch a lot of drama and horror. While stalking Different Dimension's store I saw that she had 4 polishes inspired by the show, and if they were good enough for the polish world I had to check them out.
ps I included video clips!

Sorry in advance for my uber tiny nails, I had a moment of weakness and bit them shorter than they already were. :(

First we have Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock.

Rock, Paper, Scissor, Lizard, Spock is a very light blue jelly base filled with white, grey, light blue and light green glitters. It goes on very smoothly and each brush stroke is filled with glitter!
Below I have layered one coat of Rock, Paper, Scissor, Lizard, Spock over dark blue.

And damn it! I didnt matte it! How could I not do that. Ugh.

Next up we have PENNY!!!

PENNY!!! is a gorgeous copper filled with brown and copper glitter! It is so pretty!!!
Below is only one coat of PENNY!!

Now on to Bazinga!

I die laughing every time I watch this clip!

Bazinga is a yellow jelly base with red and yellow glitters of all sizes and my favorite BIG HEX GLITTER! I do not understand my obsession with it.
Below I layer one coat of Bazinga over Sally Hansen White On.

Last but not least we have Soft Kitty, Warm Kitty.

I dont know why the video looks so tiny.

This polish is in a very sheer grey base with tons of light grey, dark grey and white HEX GLITTER!!! LOOK HOW BIG THOSE WHITE ONES ARE!!!!! And look at the holo on my pinky nail!!!

Below is two coats of Soft Kitty, Warm Kitty over OPI Pedal Faster Suzi.

You can get all these polishes over at the Different Dimension etsy store!

and dont say I didnt warn you guys but a few of Missi's polishes are being discontinued so get the following while you still can!

I copied this directly from Different Dimension's facebook page.

"To make room for new collections, the following colors will be retired on January 1, 2013:

Amphitrite
Black & Yellow, Black & Yellow
Blue Christmas
Christmahanakwanzika
Fall Me Maybe
Honesty Feels A Lot Like Mean
Maize & Blue
My Bear
Puzzle Pieces
Rainbows And Butterflies
Rake, Crunch, Jump!
Roswell
Scarlet & Grey
Selene
To The Moon And Back
Un-Teal We Meet Again
Work Hard, Play Harder

The Santa Baby Collection & colors will be available until Feb 1, 2013 at which point they will also be retired."

Her polishes are worth every cent! And if you have had your eye on any of them now would be the time to buy!

Not To Hot and Not To Cold

Oh man I found a super awesome geeky indie line!

As soon as I saw Goldilocks Planet I had to have it. Plus it has GIANT HEX GLITTER!!!!!! My favorite!!!!
I should let all of you know that I am a giant science nerd. Hahaha the kind of person that keep their science text books. And the only magazines I subscribe are Discover and Astronomy.

In case you dont know what the term Goldilocks Planet means here is a quick definition of it from My Ten Friends' etsy.

"Goldilocks Planet” is a planet is that can support life because it is neither too hot nor too cold, too big nor too small, too near its star nor too far. “Goldilocks Planet” is a yellow polish with a greenish hue that is filled with gold and turquoise glitters in various sizes. Completely exquisite and perfect"

Goldilocks Planet is a sheer green base with blue, green, gold and silver hex and square glitters. It is AMAZING!

Below is two coats of Goldilocks Planet all on its lonesome. It is still very sheer with two coats, I am sure three coats would give you full coverage.

Since two coats was not enough for full coverage and looked a little dull, I layered Goldilocks Planet over butter LONDON Dosh.

Look how amazing they look together!

I can not even explain my obsession with big hex glitter. I just love the way it looks! Unfortunately I did have to fish some of the bigger ones out of the bottle.
Make sure to check out My Ten Friends Etsy and Facebook!

Above the Curve

I have three insanely awesome polishes to show you!

First I wanna tell you a little bit about this brand. Above the Curve nail polish has an amazing cause behind the brand!

Better yet I will just take the words from Angel herself. (taken from their Big Cartel store)

"We are a husband and wife team who love to make polish together!
When I was 12 I was diagnosed with a severe case of Scoliosis. I had a 72 degree curve and my spine was making my ribs twist into my heart and lungs. I had to have a rushed surgery to fuse my spine.
We were sent to Shriner's Hospitals for Children and they did my surgery for free!! They saved my life!
Without them I wouldn't have met my wonderful husband and have my 3 beautiful children!
We have always wanted to repay them and help raise awareness and funds for Shriners Hospitals For Children as well as raise awareness for Scoliosis!
Hence the name Above The Curve
$1.00 of every bottle sold is donated to Shriner's Hospitals For Children."
If that message alone doesn't make you wanna buy polish I dont know what does. It is incredibly amazing that Angel and her amazing husband Shawn donate money back to the hospital that saved her life! Plus we wouldn't have any of these amazing polishes if she wasn't here!
They were awesome enough to let me review their Narnia collection! Yeah thats right! Fucking NARNIA!!!!!!!!!!!!! I dont know about you guys but I was more excited about the Narnia movies than Harry Potter.
We have Aslan, Caspian and Jadis.

First up we have Aslan! Who in the movie is voiced by the sexiest old man out there Mr Liam Neeson! Love him!

Aslan is a gorgeous golden brown holo polish. Which fits perfectly with every written description of Aslan, espically when he shakes his mane.

Below is two coats of Aslan. No undies and no top coat! Look how amazing it is! Of course all of us should know by now that you can not truly capture the amazingness of holo in a photo but I tried my hardest!

Second we have Jadis who most of you may know as the White Witch.

I am not even going to pretend that I was able to show you guys this polish's full beauty. It just did not want to work with me when I took pictures but it is gorgeous!

It is in a shimmery base filled with glitter in different shades or purple, blue, silver and white and gorgeous crescent moon shapes!

I thought to layer this over white was far too easy so I am gonna show it to you over two different colors.

First up we have one coat of Jadis over two coats of Ulta Faded Blues.

Next I put on coat of Jadis over two coats of Sally Hansen Lacey Lilac. I think I liked this combo the best!

Although this polish is gorgeous I have to admit it is my least favorite over the three. And I did have to fish out a few of the crescent glitters.

And last up we have Caspian! Who in the movies was played by the gorgeous Ben Barnes. Oh what I wouldnt do to spend a night with him. Or on him. ;)

Caspian is a gorgeous deep dark green filled with tiny silver glitter (that tend to look gold in some light) This polish went one much smoother than I thought it would. Because of the glitter I thought it might dry a bit gritty but it didnt at all! The picture below has not top coat!! Look how smooth it looks!

This is two coats of Caspian all by itself.

These polishes are amazing!!! And I am honored they sent me this set to review for them! I am gonna have to buy some full size polishes! Plus it is so hard for me to pass up a polish that donates to a good cause and in this case a gorgeous polish that does!

All three are available, although with other beautiful creations, on their Etsy and Big Cartel stores and make sure to follow them on Facebook for updates on restocks, new collections and other news.

*These polishes were sent to me for honest review.

She really should have picked him

Today I have a polish for you that I have been lusting over for awhile.

Nostalgic Nail Lacquer's Duckie! Which you can buy here.

Before we get to that I have a little rant about Pretty In Pink. Andie should've choosen Duckie. I think we all know that. Ugh yeah yeah it had a real life ending. She wouldve choosen Blane but I like a hollywood ending! Duckie shouldve been the one that got the girl! Ugh sometimes I hate movies. I want to watch to escape real life! Ugh spoliers if you want Hollywood endings and not real life endings dont watch The Vow or Blue Valentine. Or you know Pretty In Pink.

Ok on to the gorgeous polish!!!!
Mint green really is my favorite nail polish color. It looks good on me.
Below we have two coats of Duckie over one coat of Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet.

Woo close up shot!
The only complaint I had was that the glitter was very sparse. And I had to fish out some of that gorgeous hex glitter.

Also I got a new ring over the weekend!!!!
I am a HUGE FAN of giant rings! I have a whole box of them!
Look at this awesome glitterstache!

Glequins!

So one of my most favorite bloggers is The Nailasaurus. If you aren't following her then you are really missing out.
Anyways she does quite a few manis with what she has cleverly named 'Glequins'.

Look how totally rad this is!!!!!

So all of her manicures convinced me to buy some of my own!
For my first go I tried something really simple and just did an accent nail.

This is one coat of Cu2+ which you can buy here.
And then I used some silver glequins!
They are so easy to apply. All you need is a tooth pick and some top coat.
One thing I like most about them is that with a good top coat like SV they lay perfectly smooth so they wont get caught on things or make you want to pick them off. This mani lasted two days before two of them fell off. Normally with any rhinestone decoration I need up picking it off in an hour so this is really impressive!

These are SUUUPPPERRRR cheap! And you get 12 little pots for like $6!!!
They are sold at the Born Pretty Store and here is a link to the set I bought below.
They are so worth it and way to cheap to pass up. Since they are coming from Singapore it takes a little longer to get here but for me it was only like a week and a half and FREE SHIPPING!
Seriously if you havent bought these yet you are insane.

I will be doing a lot more with these in the future and may buy a different set, no hot pink in this one, so you can look forward to that!!

Oh the holo goodness

Oh Black Friday how I love your sales.

I have two AMAZING polishes to show you the first I have tried from the brand Chirality and dear god they are fucking amazing! Not to mention the name is awesome and nerdy. Here is an official definition of the word.

What is chirality?
Throughout the biological world, in all living things, there are molecules which have a right- and a left-hand form. The two forms are like a person’s right and left hands -- almost identical, only reversed. They are mirror images, but they aren’t superimposable. That is what we mean by chiral.

On to the polish!
First up we have Katydid! This is such a gorgeous green holo and full coverage with just two coats! Their store describes the polish like this:
"It's a Saturday night and the clubbers are out in full swing, especially at Club Chirality. Bodies are moving, swinging, and sweating, but all of the men can't keep their eyes off the female siren in the middle of the dance floor. Instead of using an enticing voice though, she uses her powers of stridulation which come from her long, beautiful legs. Once she plays her song of the siren, no man can resist."
There is no possible way to capture the beauty in a picture.

And second we have my new favorite! Cu2+ look at the gorgeousness!!!!!
And the description in their store makes me love it more!
"A lonely scientist is working to compose the ultimate love potion. While working in her laboratory, a freak accident involving copper, or Cu2+, infuses to our heroine to create an electronically charged Siren. Who says elements from the periodic table can't be beautiful?"

By the way this is ONE coat! No undies! It has full coverage in ONE fucking coat! Amazing!

This next one lets you see the holo just a little bit better but not much.

After seeing these how can you possibly resist buying some! I know I will be adding some more to my collection soon!

Make sure to check out their Facebook and their store.

on a side note check out my AWESOME new shirt!

I know you are super jealous.
Goodnight loves!

New Polish on the Block!!!

Hello my loves!

I have very exciting news to share. Jess over at Too Cute-icle has started her own line of nail polish! Her shop doesnt open until December 2nd but I am lucky enough to show off two of her polishes that will get your mouth watering for them!

First up I have Butthurt Banana! Hahahaha the name alone sells the polish! Not to mention the adorable labels!

This is a gold base with black and red glitter and teeny tiny black glitter mixed in there.
This is two coats with no undies! The polish goes on beautifully and the glitter lays flat and smooth.

Personally I dont think I would wear this polish again just because the color doesnt look great on me but it is a well made polish and full coverage in two coats! I loved the quality of this polish!

Next we have my favorite!!!! OMG this glitter is gorgeous!
It is called Pretty, Pretty Princess!

This is two coats of Pretty, Pretty Princess over two coats of Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet. Perfect combination in my opinion! I tried it over a lot of different colors but I thought this looked best.

It is filled with blue, pink and silver glitter of different sizes and my favorite! HEX GLITTER! I dont know why I love it.

And you knew I was going to do it!
I matted this son of a bitch! It looks so awesome I decided to keep it on for the rest of the day/tomorrow.

I encourage all of you to check out her blog, Facebook and her etsy shop when it opens. Dont worry I will remind everyone over on my facebook.

Introducing Penguin Polish

Hello my fellow polish lovers!!!
One of my favorite indie makers, Lacey formally of Lacey Lou's Nail Stockpile is now Penguin Polish!!!! And I have the honor of reviewing her new holiday collection!!!
What is best about the collection is that every single one can be worn anytime of year!

There are nine polishes in all but I only have eight, one didnt make the trip. Sad face.

So I already told Lacey I wasnt to fond of one, so I am gonna start with that one. Just because I dont like it doesnt mean some of you wont.

This one has a hilarious name it is called Penguin Poopies. Hahahaha. What a silly name. It is filled with black, white and purple hex glitter in a clear base.
Now I LOVE giant hex glitter but the only reason I didnt care for this one is that I had to fish them out. But even that didnt make it worth having. Although it is my least favorite I still like it. Did I mention it smells like sugar plums?! Yum!

This is one coat layered over China Glaze Pelican Gray.

Now this one is called Light the Menorah. It is in a sheer blue base almost a jelly. filled with gorgeous blue and sliver glitters. I love the silvers glitters because they are more like shards and they mix in perfectly.
This is one coat of Light the Menorah over China Glaze Pelican Gray, but this can be worn with just two coats alone. I really like blue polish so this one is awesome.

Now these next two polishes are sold as a yummy combo. This first one looks black but it is really a very deep chocolate brown. It is called MMMocha and it smell like a chocolaty coffee.
Sorry about the clean up I ran out of acetone.

This is two coats of MMMocha.

This second part of this combo is Peppermint. Peppermint is a shimmery pearl with tiny red square glitter. So wearing MMMocha with Peppermint makes your nails smell like a yummy Peppermint Mocha with is always the most popular coffee drink during winter. I have experience being a barista so I know from experience. Hahaha

This is two coats of Peppermint over MMMocha.

This gorgeous red is called Rudolph's Nose. It is a gorgeous red base filled with red glitter.
This is two coats of Rudolph's Nose It is completely opaque. And covers beautifully. I love it! If you love red polish you need this polish!

This next polish is called Burnt Baklava. It is a very weird weird color. But I like it. It is an orangy brown shimmer color base with red hex glitter. It has multiple notes in it but I think it mostly smells like caramel and it is sooooooo yummy.

This is two coats of Burnt Baklava all by itself. It also covers wonderfully.

Now this next one is called Dreydl. I liked this one more than I thought I would. It is in a sheer shimmery base filled with my favorite! HEX GLITTER! It has blue, white, gold and silver hex glitter.

This is two coats of Dreydl over Sally Hansen Golden-I. I didnt have to fish any of the glitter out and they lay flat with I love about glitter polish! I still cant explain my love for big hex glitter. This is my second favorite of the whole collection!

Ok now on to my VERY VERY FAVORITE of the collection!!!!!
This one is called Redneck Christmas Tree.
And it is freaking AMAZING!!!

It is an awesome sheer green shimmer base with the best glitter combination! Hex glitter, bar glitter, round glitter, and what looks like diamond shape glitter. It looks just like tree trimmings!

This is just two coats of this gorgeous beauty with a top coat of Seche Vite. Oh man I cant believe how much I love this one. I think it might be my favorite of Lacey's creations!

Just gorgeous! I cant stop staring at it!

Make sure you check out Lacey's new store and facebook!

Here are the links!!!
