Penguin Polish New Years addition.

New Years is just around the corner!!!
Penguin polish has come with with two awesome polishes for the occasion!

This first one is called New Years Kisses.

New Years Kisses is a gorgeous glitter bomb of super fine holo, silver and rose glitter.
Below is three coats with a top coat of SV.

For this one I decided to layer two coats of New Year's Kisses over Essie Damsel in a Dress.

This is called Happy New Years, Baby.
I have to admit this shard type glitter is pretty rad.
It is a black base filled with like a bazillion different colors of glitter! It reminds me of the fire works my friends and I light off on New years.

Below is one coat of Sally Hansen Black out and two coats of Happy New Years, Baby.

Personally I think I like the second one more than the first one, it is more my style. What do you guys think?

I think one of these polish would be the perfect addition to your New Years outfit and should really go pick some up for your self. Lacey is super sweet and has fast shipping time.

Make sure to check out Penguin Polish on Facebook and Etsy!

BAZINGA!

Missi over at Different Dimension must love that I just throw money at her because she keeps coming up with more and more of these damn polishes! (yes this collection is old but it is her fault for getting me hooked on show!)

So I have seen lot of people talk about The Big Bang Theory and how funny it was but had never watched it. I normally watch a lot of drama and horror. While stalking Different Dimension's store I saw that she had 4 polishes inspired by the show, and if they were good enough for the polish world I had to check them out.
ps I included video clips!

Sorry in advance for my uber tiny nails, I had a moment of weakness and bit them shorter than they already were. :(

First we have Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock.

Rock, Paper, Scissor, Lizard, Spock is a very light blue jelly base filled with white, grey, light blue and light green glitters. It goes on very smoothly and each brush stroke is filled with glitter!
Below I have layered one coat of Rock, Paper, Scissor, Lizard, Spock over dark blue.

And damn it! I didnt matte it! How could I not do that. Ugh.

Next up we have PENNY!!!

PENNY!!! is a gorgeous copper filled with brown and copper glitter! It is so pretty!!!
Below is only one coat of PENNY!!

Now on to Bazinga!

I die laughing every time I watch this clip!

Bazinga is a yellow jelly base with red and yellow glitters of all sizes and my favorite BIG HEX GLITTER! I do not understand my obsession with it.
Below I layer one coat of Bazinga over Sally Hansen White On.

Last but not least we have Soft Kitty, Warm Kitty.

I dont know why the video looks so tiny.

This polish is in a very sheer grey base with tons of light grey, dark grey and white HEX GLITTER!!! LOOK HOW BIG THOSE WHITE ONES ARE!!!!! And look at the holo on my pinky nail!!!

Below is two coats of Soft Kitty, Warm Kitty over OPI Pedal Faster Suzi.

You can get all these polishes over at the Different Dimension etsy store!

and dont say I didnt warn you guys but a few of Missi's polishes are being discontinued so get the following while you still can!

I copied this directly from Different Dimension's facebook page.

"To make room for new collections, the following colors will be retired on January 1, 2013:

Not To Hot and Not To Cold

Oh man I found a super awesome geeky indie line!

As soon as I saw Goldilocks Planet I had to have it. Plus it has GIANT HEX GLITTER!!!!!! My favorite!!!!
I should let all of you know that I am a giant science nerd. Hahaha the kind of person that keep their science text books. And the only magazines I subscribe are Discover and Astronomy.

In case you dont know what the term Goldilocks Planet means here is a quick definition of it from My Ten Friends' etsy.

"Goldilocks Planet” is a planet is that can support life because it is neither too hot nor too cold, too big nor too small, too near its star nor too far. “Goldilocks Planet” is a yellow polish with a greenish hue that is filled with gold and turquoise glitters in various sizes. Completely exquisite and perfect"

Goldilocks Planet is a sheer green base with blue, green, gold and silver hex and square glitters. It is AMAZING!

Below is two coats of Goldilocks Planet all on its lonesome. It is still very sheer with two coats, I am sure three coats would give you full coverage.

Since two coats was not enough for full coverage and looked a little dull, I layered Goldilocks Planet over butter LONDON Dosh.

Look how amazing they look together!

I can not even explain my obsession with big hex glitter. I just love the way it looks! Unfortunately I did have to fish some of the bigger ones out of the bottle.

Above the Curve

I have three insanely awesome polishes to show you!

First I wanna tell you a little bit about this brand. Above the Curve nail polish has an amazing cause behind the brand!

Better yet I will just take the words from Angel herself. (taken from their Big Cartel store)

"We are a husband and wife team who love to make polish together!
When I was 12 I was diagnosed with a severe case of Scoliosis. I had a 72 degree curve and my spine was making my ribs twist into my heart and lungs. I had to have a rushed surgery to fuse my spine.
We were sent to Shriner's Hospitals for Children and they did my surgery for free!! They saved my life!
Without them I wouldn't have met my wonderful husband and have my 3 beautiful children!
We have always wanted to repay them and help raise awareness and funds for Shriners Hospitals For Children as well as raise awareness for Scoliosis!
Hence the name Above The Curve
$1.00 of every bottle sold is donated to Shriner's Hospitals For Children."
If that message alone doesn't make you wanna buy polish I dont know what does. It is incredibly amazing that Angel and her amazing husband Shawn donate money back to the hospital that saved her life! Plus we wouldn't have any of these amazing polishes if she wasn't here!
They were awesome enough to let me review their Narnia collection! Yeah thats right! Fucking NARNIA!!!!!!!!!!!!! I dont know about you guys but I was more excited about the Narnia movies than Harry Potter.
We have Aslan, Caspian and Jadis.

First up we have Aslan! Who in the movie is voiced by the sexiest old man out there Mr Liam Neeson! Love him!

Aslan is a gorgeous golden brown holo polish. Which fits perfectly with every written description of Aslan, espically when he shakes his mane.

Below is two coats of Aslan. No undies and no top coat! Look how amazing it is! Of course all of us should know by now that you can not truly capture the amazingness of holo in a photo but I tried my hardest!

Second we have Jadis who most of you may know as the White Witch.

I am not even going to pretend that I was able to show you guys this polish's full beauty. It just did not want to work with me when I took pictures but it is gorgeous!

It is in a shimmery base filled with glitter in different shades or purple, blue, silver and white and gorgeous crescent moon shapes!

I thought to layer this over white was far too easy so I am gonna show it to you over two different colors.

First up we have one coat of Jadis over two coats of Ulta Faded Blues.

Next I put on coat of Jadis over two coats of Sally Hansen Lacey Lilac. I think I liked this combo the best!

Although this polish is gorgeous I have to admit it is my least favorite over the three. And I did have to fish out a few of the crescent glitters.

And last up we have Caspian! Who in the movies was played by the gorgeous Ben Barnes. Oh what I wouldnt do to spend a night with him. Or on him. ;)

Caspian is a gorgeous deep dark green filled with tiny silver glitter (that tend to look gold in some light) This polish went one much smoother than I thought it would. Because of the glitter I thought it might dry a bit gritty but it didnt at all! The picture below has not top coat!! Look how smooth it looks!

This is two coats of Caspian all by itself.

These polishes are amazing!!! And I am honored they sent me this set to review for them! I am gonna have to buy some full size polishes! Plus it is so hard for me to pass up a polish that donates to a good cause and in this case a gorgeous polish that does!

All three are available, although with other beautiful creations, on their Etsy and Big Cartel stores and make sure to follow them on Facebook for updates on restocks, new collections and other news.

*These polishes were sent to me for honest review.

She really should have picked him

Today I have a polish for you that I have been lusting over for awhile.

Nostalgic Nail Lacquer's Duckie! Which you can buy here.

Before we get to that I have a little rant about Pretty In Pink. Andie should've choosen Duckie. I think we all know that. Ugh yeah yeah it had a real life ending. She wouldve choosen Blane but I like a hollywood ending! Duckie shouldve been the one that got the girl! Ugh sometimes I hate movies. I want to watch to escape real life! Ugh spoliers if you want Hollywood endings and not real life endings dont watch The Vow or Blue Valentine. Or you know Pretty In Pink.

Ok on to the gorgeous polish!!!!
Mint green really is my favorite nail polish color. It looks good on me.
Below we have two coats of Duckie over one coat of Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet.

Woo close up shot!
The only complaint I had was that the glitter was very sparse. And I had to fish out some of that gorgeous hex glitter.

Also I got a new ring over the weekend!!!!
I am a HUGE FAN of giant rings! I have a whole box of them!
Look at this awesome glitterstache!

Glequins!

So one of my most favorite bloggers is The Nailasaurus. If you aren't following her then you are really missing out.
Anyways she does quite a few manis with what she has cleverly named 'Glequins'.

Look how totally rad this is!!!!!

So all of her manicures convinced me to buy some of my own!
For my first go I tried something really simple and just did an accent nail.

This is one coat of Cu2+ which you can buy here.
And then I used some silver glequins!
They are so easy to apply. All you need is a tooth pick and some top coat.
One thing I like most about them is that with a good top coat like SV they lay perfectly smooth so they wont get caught on things or make you want to pick them off. This mani lasted two days before two of them fell off. Normally with any rhinestone decoration I need up picking it off in an hour so this is really impressive!

These are SUUUPPPERRRR cheap! And you get 12 little pots for like $6!!!
They are sold at the Born Pretty Store and here is a link to the set I bought below.
They are so worth it and way to cheap to pass up. Since they are coming from Singapore it takes a little longer to get here but for me it was only like a week and a half and FREE SHIPPING!
Seriously if you havent bought these yet you are insane.

I will be doing a lot more with these in the future and may buy a different set, no hot pink in this one, so you can look forward to that!!
