Spring Is Sprung!

Today I have the Spring is Sprung collection from Above the Curve. I know, I know, it is almost summer, I am super late.

If you dont know about Above the Curve then now I know you are not reading my blog. For SHAME -_-

The story behind Above the Curve is such an inspiring one.
Here is Angel's story
"When I was 12 I was diagnosed with a severe case of Scoliosis. I had a 72 degree curve and my spine was making my ribs twist into my heart and lungs. I had to have a rushed surgery to fuse my spine.
We were sent to Shriner's Hospitals for Children and they did my surgery for free!!     They saved my life!
Without them I wouldn't have met my wonderful husband and have my 3 beautiful children!
We have always wanted to repay them and help raise awareness and funds for Shriners Hospitals For Children as well as raise awareness for Scoliosis!
Hence the name Above The Curve
$1.00 of every bottle sold is donated to Shriner's Hospitals For Children."
That story always makes me cry but on to the swatches!!!!

First I have Daisy Lilac's It!
This polish is a gorgeous it  is full of turquoise and gold circle glitters, small burgundy, fuchsia and aqua hexes, fine holographic turquoise and pink hexes and small black stars in a pastel purple jelly base.
I wasnt able to get any stars out but this polish is so pretty. I put two coats over one coat of Lime Crime Lavendairy.

Now we have Rain Kissed Strawberries.
Rain Kissed Strawberries is filled with fuchsia circle, hot pink and bubblegum pink hex glitters and fine fuchsia holographic hexes in beautiful pastel pink jelly base.
I liked this polish much more than I thought I would. I layer two coats of Rain Kissed Strawberries over Zoya Shelby.

Next we have my favorite of the collection!!!!
Misty Morning. It is full of my favorite, BIG HEXES!!
"Misty Morning is inspired by the Spring sky. White hexes in different sizes for the clouds, silver hexes to mimic rain and iridescent rainbow hexes and shimmer mixed in a pastel blue jelly base."
For this polish I used two coats over Zoya Blu. The really big hexes were a little hard to fish out but it was totally worth it.

Next we have Field of Tulips.
Field Of Tulips is filled with different sizes of red, blue, orange, yellow, green, pink and purple hex glitters in a pastel green jelly base.
I have to say this is probably my least favorite of the collection. I dont really know why but it just doesnt stand out to me.
Below I but two coats over China Glaze Keep Calm, Paint On. On my ring finger is two coats all by itself so you can see when it looks like without undies.

Last but not least we have Sunset Skies.
Sunset Skies is a creamy pastel orange base filled with yellow, orange and pink medium hexes, small and fine white hexes, pink circle's and fine rose and bright pink holographic hexes.
Below is three coats all on its own!

And here is one coat of Sunset Skies over Sally Hansen Mango Motion.

What do you guys think of this collection? It is perfect for spring and summer.
You can buy the collection and other awesome polishes at Above the Curve's Big Cartel STORE

A Smattering of Nail Art

So I normally do my nails everyday. Hahaha I dont really have a life. I am working on a review at the moment but until then I am gonna show you some pics of the nail art I have done lately.

Roses!!
For this mani I started out with Essie A Crewed Interest then for the gradient I used China Glaze Snap My Dragon. For the roses I used THIS tutorial from The Nailasaurus. I used the same colors as the gradient nails with a little white mixed in and China Glaze Budding Romance for the leaves.

Left Hand.

Right Hand.

Stamps!
Next up I have just a simple stamping mani. This stamp is my all time favorite and was actually my first plate.
I used Lime Crime Parfait Day and Essie Penny Talk for the stamp. The stamp is from Konad plate M71.
It is so simple and pretty!

Last we have a striping tape mani!
Also kind of copied THIS mani from The Nailasaurus. What can I say? I am a huge fan girl. hahaha.
I started out with Different Dimension Stronger, next applying the striping tape and putting a thick coat of Sally Hansen Black Out.
So which one do you like best? Comment below.

Cereal Killers part 2!

Attention everyone! This post is about part two of Chirality's Cereal Killer collection. If you are easily offended or overly sensitive you can skip over the words and look at the pictures. Or you can just leave now.

Ok on to the glorious polishes!!!!!!

Left to right we have Gacy Charms, Starkweather Pops, Frosted Speck and Apple Jack the Ripper.

First up we have Frosted Speck.
If you dont know about Speck let me give you a little history lesson. Or if you watch Mad Men you may also already know the story. On the night of July 13 1966 Richard Speck broke into a town house that was being used as a dormitory for several young student nurses. He held them captive and one by one led the girls out of the room stabbing and/or strangling them to death. 8 of the 9 girls were murdered. Only 8 nurses lived there but one was spending the night so what may have saved her is that Speck didnt know she was there or he lost count.
He was put to death by Electric Chair.

Now obviously this is movie is a little theatrical but Speck was on fucked up piece of shit.

Now lets look at the pretty polish!
It is a very sheer pink color  it has sold and sheer white glitter of all shapes and sizes including my favorite! BIG HEX GLITTER!!!!!
This turned out to be my favorite polish of the collection which I wasnt expecting. This is two coats over one thin coat of Sally Hansen Sheer Me Now.

Next up we have Starkweather Pops.
Now if you have seen Natural Born Killers then you already have a pretty good idea of who Charles Strakweather is.
Nineteen year old Starkweather and his 14 year old girlfriend decided to go on a little road trip and along the way they murdered 11 people in about two months.
Starkweather got the electric chair while his lovely girlfriend was released from prison a mere 17 years later in 1976.
I am sure you may have seen MOUNTAINS of movies and books even songs based on this lovers murder spree.
We got Natural Born Killers
You've also got Badlands starring Sissy Spacek and Martin Sheen.

Even fucking Bruce Springsteen wrote a song about it!

Now on to this gorgeous polish. I really didnt think I would like this one because mustard yellow colors dont look very nice with my pale skin but cmon you can have Pop cereal without that yellow!
Id like to remind you have you do not have to fish out glitter in these polishes because they are packed with it! We have all different sizes of yellow and gold glitters and some sheer BIG HEXES!!!!!
Below is two coats of Starkweather Pops over one very thin coat of Sally Hansen Sheer Me now.

And I really dont think this next polish needs an introduction. If you dont know who Jack the Ripper is I feel you have never taken a history class, or watched the history channel they even made a movie starring Johnny Depp for christs sake!

So Apple Jack the Ripper is full of different shades of green and gold glitters. I love the big giant green circles. Although BIG HEXES are number one in my heart giant circles are starting to come in second.
This totally reminds me of Apple Jacks, the little pieces of glitter look like the pieces of cereal that would start to float about if you let it sit in the milk to long. hahaha.
Like I mentioned no fishing for glitter with this baby. This is only ONE coat over a very thin coat of Sally Hansen Sheer Me Now.

And last but not least is what I might say is peoples runaway favorite of this second part of the collection.
Gacy Charms! Seriously guys serial killers are the scum that walk this earth. But everyone knows who this guy is. Most of us associate him with clowns, or maybe thats just me.
Here is a little fuck up piece of knowledge I copied off of Wikipedia:
"was an American serial killer and rapist, also known as the Killer Clown, who was convicted of the sexual assault and murder of a minimum of 33 teenage boys and young men in a series of killings committed between 1972 and 1978 in Chicago, Illinois.
All of Gacy's known murders were committed inside his Norwood Park home; his victims would typically be lured to this address by force or deception and all but one victim was murdered by either asphyxiation or strangulation with a tourniquet (his first victim was stabbed to death). Gacy buried 26 of his victims in the crawl space of his home; three further victims were buried elsewhere on his property, while the bodies of his last four known victims were discarded in the Des Plaines River.
Convicted of 33 murders, Gacy was sentenced to death for 12 of these killings on March 13, 1980. He spent a total of 14 years on death row before he was executed by lethal injection at Stateville Correctional Center on May 10, 1994.
Gacy became known as the "Killer Clown" due to his charitable services at fundraising events, parades and children's parties where he would dress as "Pogo the Clown", a character he devised himself."
So yeah he was a fucking disgusting excuse of a person.

But this polish is GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!
It looks just like Lucky Charms cereal!! It is a white base packed full of shapes! We have hearts, we have stars, we have moons, we ever have flowers!!
This polish is easily the funnest of the group. But I still think Frosted Speck is my favorite of part two!

These gorgeous polishes wont be available until Saturday May 18th but when that rolls around you can pick up Part two right HERE. And make sure to follow Chirality on Facebook HERE for up to date info on restocks, sales and giveaways!

What do you guys think? Honestly? Hateful and rude comments will be deleted. You can say the polish theme rubs you the wrong way without being a jerk.

A little Buzz and a little Wood

Hello my dears! Caught you off guard with my dirty title didnt I? Well get your mind out of the gutter I am of course talking about Buzz Lightyear and Woody!

Thats right I have Different Dimension's new You've Got a Friend in Me duo!

First up we have To Infinity and Beyond!
To Infinity and Beyond is filled with purple, white and green glitters. It is pretty sheer so I layered it over China Glaze Pelican Gray. You see it and you automatically think Buzz Lightyear! Oh man and not to mention is has big hex glitter! Damnit I love big hex glitter.

I was really upset I didnt have a space ship stamp so I settled on stars. I used an image from Bundle Monster plate BM21.

But what makes this polish even more Buzz like is that is fucking glows in the dark!
Now this isnt my picture, I borrowed it from Missi's facebook page. As you may know I take pictures with my iPhone so I could not capture it on my own.

It glows insanely well. You just have to remember to shake it up very well to make sure the pigment is spread throughout. I also left it on my window sill while I was at work and it charged it up.

And you cant have Buzz Lightyear without his partner in crime Woody.
Reach for the Sky is a yellow polish filled with yellow and red micro glitter, yellow squares and red circle glitters.
Below is 2 coats so as you can see it is pretty damn opaque.

I have to admit I do like To Infinity and Beyond more out of the duo only because more mustard color yellows dont really look well with my skin tone. I normally stick to pale yellows.
Both polishes are incredibly well made and also wear well as do all of Missi's polishes.

Make sure to check out Different Dimension on Facebook HERE and her store HERE.
Missi is also on instagram @missibarry.
ps to all my international followers Llarowe is also selling Different Dimension! You can check it out right HERE

You Jelly?

Tonight I have two polishes from Aphrodite Lacquers new collection True Love and Heartbreak.
There are 9 colors in the new collection, 6 Heartbreak colors and 3 True Love colors.

First I am going to start with Happily Ever After. This is one of the True Love colors, the 3 True Love polishes are glitter top coats. This one is full of all sorts of different blue and purple glitters of different shapes and sizes.

This is one coat  of Happily Ever After over Zoya Blu. I have to say I am not a huge fan of this one. I found it a little boring.

Up next we have the most awesome jelly sandwich in a bottle you will ever see!
This is Lonely Me, Lonely You.
It is a gorgeous bright pink jelly packed with different shapes and sizes of white matte glitter, silver glitters and this awesome purplely-blue shimmer that is a little like Butter LONDON Disco Biscuit but way more intense. I love this polish!!!

I used 3 thin coats of Lonely Me, Lonely You.
Not to mention look at Aphrodite Lacquers new labels! They are adorable! I love them way more than the old ones!

Make sure to go check out the entire new collection on her Etsy store HERE and make sure to follow Aphrodite Lacquers on Facebook HERE for up to date info on restocks and new collections!
